Quaker Social Action approached Flix to create a film to promote their wonderful Homestore – a facility in East London which recycles furniture and provides low cost major appliances for low income households and those in need. The Homestore was about to celebrate its 25th Anniversary, so it had to be something special that captured the great work they do, but it also had to be timeless enough to continue doing so long term.
Working within their budget framework, Flix developed a concept that would follow the story of one single-parent family in need, but also embrace the scope of need in the community. This was a story that could have been told through conventional filming, but instead Flix took a new approach – using high quality stills, motion graphics and animation, combined with timelapse and standard film.
The film was launched at the Homestore 25th Anniversary celebration event at Olympic Park.
